After completion the freshly laid masonry must be protected against drying too quickly due to exposure to strong sun and wind or rain and frost by hanging it with plastic sheeting or similar material.

The same applies for protecting against impurities. The exposed surfaces must be covered up if wood preservatives, bitumen coating and the like are used on site.
