PROCESSING SL Solid Block and SL Hollow-core Block

SL Solid Block and SL Hollow-core Block are laid using standard mortar. They are 113 mm high, corresponding to a course height of 12.5 cm. The bed joint thickness is thus 12 mm. SL Lightweight Block is 240 mm in length, and it has a smooth finished on the front side. The head joints are worked in standard mortar at approx. 10 wide. SL Lightweight Block has a processing weight of less than 25 kg and is laid entirely by hand.

Standard mortar is properly placed with the use of the mortar sledge. This method guarantees a uniformly even and consistent horizontal joint. The mortar joints should be about 12 mm in the finished construction. The blocks must be free of dust and debris, and wetted down in advance where required. Both SL Solid Block and SL Hollow-core Block are finished with mortared head joints.
