Sand-lime brick is made of lime, sand, and water. Nothing more. These ingredients are mixed in different proportions into a raw mixture that is poured and then pressed into molds. The resulting compacted green body is hardened by steam at 203° C to just below 16 bar. Six to eight hours later, a white sand-lime brick emerges. Using this method, 150 different products are manufactured at the factories of Heidelberg Cement Company.
