Making Sand-Lime Brick

Recycling and Waste

In the larger scheme of things, the goal of ecological utilizaton of building materials must not be forgotten. In order to conserve natural resources, whenever a building is taken apart or demolished, the leftover materials should be re-integrated into the biogenic or geogenic system as much as possible. In addition to reducing waste, recycling helps save raw materials and the energy needed for their production. As a building material, sand-lime brick may be re-used again and again.

  • As a supplement to the renewed production of sand-lime brick
  • As a supplement to concrete building elements (although only as a component with natural supplemental materials)
  • As a material for use in earthworks, roads, and walkways.
